All tied up (2)...

Here are the bracelets that I mentioned last time....

I've done these with a sliding knot - perfect for wrists of every size!  I've used a few different knots on these - twisting, flat and half-hitch - together with semi-precious gems.....

I also made some porcelain buttons and have used these as bracelet clasps....

All tied up...

I've been busy making some of my porcelain disks into jewellery using macramé.  I really enjoy macramé - it is time-consuming but I find it very soothing.  I've been using C-Lon thread which comes in some amazing colours.

First up, some of the disks knotted with a twisting macramé knot (I love this knot, so delicate and pretty) together with some semi-precious gemstones (including some watermelon jasper which looks good enough to eat!)...

and next, some of the disks knotted up with some interesting (great colours and shapes) glass beads that I found....

I've also been making bracelets, I'll blog about them next time.

The Curlicue pendant

I’ve set one of my porcelain disks into silver.  The porcelain had such a lovely texture so my intention was to keep the setting simple so as not to distract attention.  But I couldn’t help myself and added a curlicue of silver as an extra flourish.

Porcelain Disk Obsession

Lately I’ve become somewhat obsessed with making porcelain disks.  I’ve been using various textures on these.

Lace…….

Things that I discover out and about…..
(My rambles in the countryside have become a whole lot slower as I keep stopping to ponder whether the leaves, flowers, seed heads, bark I’ve just come across will work well pressed into porcelain!)

Dots…….

I’ve made them with and without holes so I can either use macramé or set them in silver.   I’ve been trying some other shapes too….

The Travellers Necklace

I thought I’d start with my Travellers necklace.  I go to a silversmithing class and Adele my teacher has an amazing stash of stones.  I’d been coveting this picture jasper cabochon for a while but it is quite large and so was reasonably pricey.  But as luck would have it, Adele got her stone stash out on my birthday and I naturally decided to treat myself.  It is a lovely stone – like a Chinese painting - I see three people starting out on a trip through the mountains to a castle on a hill.  What do you see?  I didn’t want to distract from the stone so I kept the setting fairly simple, just with some added interest with the toggle at the front rather than the back.
